Questions
Outlets & Dedicated Circuits FAQs
Do I need a dedicated circuit for a hot tub?
Yes. Hot tubs need a dedicated 240V circuit with GFCI protection and a disconnect within sight of the tub.
Can you add a 240V outlet in my garage?
Yes, for EV chargers, welders, compressors and shop tools, sized to the equipment.
What's the difference between GFCI and AFCI?
GFCI protects people from shock near water. AFCI protects against arcing faults that cause fires. Current code requires both in many rooms.
