Pricing

What affects the price

Every job gets a written price before work starts, and estimates are always complimentary. These are the things that move the number.

  • Generator size (what you need to run)
  • Automatic vs. manual transfer
  • Distance between the generator, gas meter and panel
  • Integration with existing solar or batteries

Questions

Generator Installation FAQs

Can I just plug my generator into an outlet?

No. Back-feeding through an outlet is dangerous to you and to utility crews. A generator inlet with a listed interlock or transfer switch is the safe, legal way to do it.

What size generator do I need?

It depends on what you want to run. Lights, fridge and outlets need far less than central air and an electric range. We size it from your actual loads.

Will a generator work with my solar?

Yes, when it's designed together. The transfer equipment has to keep the generator and solar from fighting each other. We plan both.

Do generators need a permit?

Yes. Standby generators and transfer equipment require permits and inspection, and gas work has its own requirements. We take care of it.
